Rebekah Heacock

 

Rebekah Heacock is a Master of International Affairs candidate at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, where she focuses on the role of participatory media in economic and political development. After earning her B.A. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Kansas in 2006, she worked as a freelance web designer for projects in the United States and Africa and as a program coordinator for a youth-focused development organization in Uganda. She currently researches Internet censorship for the Harvard University Berkman Center for Internet and Society’s OpenNet Initiative and serves as an editor for Columbia’s The Morningside Post.
