I was doing some work in Pakistan and Afghanistan in 1992 ... and I recall another long march ... in this case organized by Benazir Bhutto in her bid to oust Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. I remember Islamabad being totally locked down to keep the marchers from getting to the Government center. And as I recall, this march was a replication of an earlier long march! The long march seems to have a long history in Pakistan.
